Circumstances:
The pilot departed Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Airfield on a local solo post maintenance test flight. While flying north of the city, the airplane collided with a second RCAF Anson registered 6196 that was engaged in a photographic exercise with four people on board. Following the midair collision, both airplanes dove into the ground and crashed 5 km south of Chambly. All five occupants in both airplanes were killed.
