Circumstances:
On take off run, at a speed of 32 knots, engine number one (a Soloviev D-30KU-154-II) exploded. Pilot abandoned the take off and made an emergency braking procedure. Aircraft came to a stop and all 112 occupants escaped without injury. Aircraft was considered as damaged beyond repair as several compressor elements punctured the engine number one nacelle, hit the fuselage and number two engine structure. A fire erupted on left engine and destroyed nacelle and a part of APU also.
Probable cause:
Left engine compressor explosion on take off.
