Circumstances:
Shortly after takeoff, while climbing, a propeller blade on left engine failed and hit the fuselage, damaging control cables and hitting the passenger. The pilot reduced his altitude to attempt an emergency landing in Redcliffe, near Perth Airport. While both occupants were slightly injured, the aircraft was considered as damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
Propeller blade failure.
