Circumstances:
Christened 'City of Rome', the aircraft was performing an internal flight within Italy. En route, while cruising along the Italian coast in poor weather conditions, crew attempted to make an emergency landing into the sea off La Spezia due to unknown technical problems. On landing, aircraft hit high waves and overturned, killing all seven occupants. While being towed by the authorities, aircraft sunk and was lost.
