Circumstances:
Crew was engaged in a training flight at Biloxi-Keesler AFB, south Mississippi. On landing, aircraft did not decelerate as expected, overran and came to rest 190 feet further on. Both pilots escaped uninjured but aircraft was considered as damaged beyond repair.
Probable cause:
According to USAF, copilot adopted a wrong landing configuration with a higher speed than normal upon touchdown. After landing, speed was to high so spoilers and speed brakes could not be deployed. Therefore, aircraft was not able to decelerate normally and its performances were affected by an aquaplaning effect which was considered as a contributory factor.
