Circumstances:
The airplane departed RAF Woodhall Spa at 2348LT on January 30 on an operation to Hamburg. While flying along the Dutch coast, it was shot down by a German fighter and crashed into the sea some 10 km southwest of Petten. All seven crew members were killed.
