Circumstances:
The aircraft left RAF Waddington in the evening of June 21 on a bombing mission over Boulogne. On the return trip, the bomber was mistakenly shot down by the pilot of a RAF Beaufighter and crashed in a field located in Wollaston, east of Northampton. All seven crew members were killed.
