Circumstances:
On final approach to Richmond, pilot did not realize he was flying too low. A gear hit a fence and aircraft overturned and crashed in flames upside down. While the Pilot Flying Officer Charles M. Blamey was killed, the passenger Able Seaman John Plumb was injured.
