Both pilots were performing a training flight and departed Platte Valley airstrip located north of Fort Lupton early morning. While flying around Weld County, one engine stopped and the crew elected to make an emergency landing in an open field. At low height, the twin engine aircraft struck tree tops and a telephone pole and wires before crashing into flames. Both occupants were slightly injured while the aircraft was destroyed by fire.
