The aircraft left Anapa airport at 1505LT and reached rapidly the altitude of 11,700 metres. Crew sent a mayday call and the aircraft crashed in an open field near Novgorodskoye, Ukraine. All 170 occupants were killed. At the time of the accident, severe thunderstorm activity with turbulences was reported in the area. It seems that the aircraft was overstressed and stalled. It is also possible that the aircraft was overloaded at the time of the accident. |
