Circumstances

The aircraft was making a business flight from Oxford (Mississippi) to Rochester, Minnesota. During flight, while overflying Iowa, the crew decided to divert to Cresco-Church airport, northeast Iowa, probably due to bad weather conditions. On final approach, the aircraft crashed in a corn field. Both pilots were killed while both passengers were seriously injured. The right wing was torn off and the cockpit was destroyed. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were bad with thunderstorm activity, high winds, rain and low visibility.
