The aircraft was making the regular SBI778 (S7778) flight from Moscow-Domodedovo to Irkutsk. On approach, weather conditions were poor with low ceiling and thunderstorms. On landing on runway 30 (3,165 metres long), the aircraft did not decelerate as expected and overran the runway before colliding with a concrete wall. The aircraft burnt and was completely destroyed. It seems that a hydraulic failure occurred on brake system, after the reverse thrust system was applied. The aircraft accumulated 59,865 flying hours for 12,550 cycles. While the captain accumulated 10,611 flying hours, the copilot has 9,771 flying hours.
