The aircraft was performing its second approach when it disappeared from radar screens. It crashed 6 km off shore and the crew did not send any distress call. All 113 occupants were killed instantly. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were as follow : wind variable at 2 kt per hour, visibility 4 km, light rain showers, mist at 600 ft, overcast at 2,700 ft, thunder clouds, temperature 11° C, dewpoint 11° C, QNH 1018, horizontal visibility reduced at 1,500 metres and vertical visibility reduced at 500 ft. Built in 1995, the aircraft accumulated approximately 28,200 flying hours for 14,400 cycles.
