Circumstances
   
 
Shortly after departure from Pemberton airport, the Cessna 207 crashed at an elevation of about 3,500 feet ASL. It was in a left 30 degrees bank turn and descending back towards its departure point when it impacted trees. The pilot was fatally injured and a post crash fire consumed most of the airframe. The weather at the time was clear skies, variable winds, temparture above standard. The engine was recovered for examination.
