|
On approach to Wamena airport, the aircraft was flying too low and hit Gunung Pike mountain located 7 km from runway 15 threshold. All six occupants were killed. They were performing a positionning flight to Wamena to pick up the governor or Papua but the actual leg was a cargo one with rice staples and 9 tons of aviation turbine fuel on board. Wamena is a VFR airport only. |
