Circumstances

The twin engine aircraft was performing an ambulance flight from Steamboat Springs to Rawlins to pick up a patient. During an ILS approach at night, the aircraft struck a hill few kilometers from airport and was destroyed upon impact. Only the pilot survived and was seriously injured. At the time of the accident, the visibility was poor with snow fall and low ceiling at 600 feet. Aerodynamic stall due to icing and low approach speed.
