The twin engine aircraft was performing a charter flight to Emmetsburg. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot informed ATC that he return to airport due to engine problem. The aircraft crashed in an open field located about 3 miles northeast of Ankeny Regional Airport. Both occupants were killed. The aircraft was owned by Exec 1 Aviation.
