Circumstances

The aircraft was flying from Herat to Kabul with 96 passengers and a crew of 8 on board. Landing at Kabul was impossible due to snowstorm and the crew decided to divert to Peshawar, Pakistan. Few minutes later, while flying in bad weather conditions, the aircraft struck a snow covered mountain at 3,300 metres high located 35 km East of Kabul. The first rescuers from the NATO corps in Afghanistan found the debris only 24 hours later. Nobody survived. It could be possible that crew lost its situational awareness due to bad weather conditions. Fuel exhaution is also a possible cause.
