The aircraft crashed 5 minutes after takeoff from Baku-Bina airport on a flight to Aktau, Kazakhstan. The debris were found on a beach near the village of Nardaran, 40 km from Baku. All occupants were killed. Among them were 15 Azeris, one Briton, one Australian, one Turk, one Georgian and 4 Kazakh.
