The twin engine aircraft was making a flight for the
Royal Australian Navy with specialist on board. After takeoff from runway
24, while climbing at 100 feet, the pilot called the air traffic controller
to inform that the right engine stopped. Immediately, the pilot received
the authorization to return to the airport but few minutes later, the
aircraft crashed in a wooded area located 300 meters short of runway
12. A passenger died on the crash site and a second passenger died 85
days later. All other occupants were seriously injured.
