On descent, the crew decided to make a 30 minutes circuit over the airport awaiting better weather conditions. Finally, the aircraft landed on wet runway 16 (3'000 meters long) but did not decelerate correctly. It overran the runway end, hit a fence and came to rest 100 meters further. No injuries among the 131 people on board but the aircraft is damaged beyond economical repair.
