On descent, the crew decided to make a 30 minutes circuit over the airport awaiting weather improvement. Finally, the aircraft landed on wet runway 16 (3,000 meters long) but did not decelerate as expected. It overran the runway end, hit a fence and came to rest 100 meters further on. No injuries among the 131 people on board but the aircraft was damaged beyond economical repair. |
