Crash of a Learjet 35A in Teterboro: 2 killed

  • On final approach to Teterboro Airport, while on a positioning flight from Philadelphia, the airplane went out of control and crashed in flames in an industrial area located about 0,6 mile short of runway 01 threshold. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and a post crash fire and several vehicles and buildings were destroyed as well. Both crew members were killed. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were considered as good with wind from 350 gusting up to 30 knots. It was captured on a camera that the aircraft was in a 90° right bank and nose down attitude at the time of impact.
