Following a short flight from Lima-Jorge Chavez Airport, the airplane completed the approach to runway 31 at Jauja-Francisco Carlé Airport. After touchdown, the aircraft became uncontrollable, veered off runway to the right and while contacting a grassy area, lost its undercarriage. It slid for dozen yards before coming to rest in flames. All 141 occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft that was destroyed by fire. It has been reported that the touchdown was quit hard. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were considered as good.
